Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering, Mookambigai College of Engineering, Pudukkottai.

Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2009.

I feel proud to lead this department and also congratulate the faculty and students performance. I put all my efforts to give my best for the overall development.

The main objective of the department is to develop the students both personally and professionally to achieve a successful career in industry, research and academic.

The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty. The department aims to impart knowledge and training of the highest standard. The objective of the department is to prepare students for a successful career in Industry, Research and Academic to meet the needs of growing technology. We provide an opportunity for students to work as members of a team on multidisciplinary projects.

I look forward for preparing my students to face the challenges in the future and succeed in offering technological solutions for the betterment of the society and our nation.

To produce capable students in the field of Civil Engineering with the quality technical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.

  • To provide a quality technical education related to Civil Engineering.
  • To encourage students to pursue higher education and take competitive exams and various career enhancing courses.
  • To enable students to develop skills and to solve problems related to Civil Engineering infrastructure as well as society at large.
  • To create disseminate and integrate knowledge of engineering science and technology that expands the civil and environmental engineering knowledge base which in turn enables the betterment of human society.
  • To impart moral and ethical values among the students.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

After successful completion of the programme the Graduates will,

PEO1: Have embarked on successful careers as Civil Engineers and in related job functions in consulting, government and academic.

PEO2: Be competent with training and coverage in selected Civil Engineering specializations so that those who are well qualified can pursue higher studies.

PEO3: Possess a good understanding of social, environmental and ethical issues and have effective communication skills.

PEO4: Have awareness of contemporary professional issues and support the engineering professor ession through participation in professional societies and/or educational institutions.

PEO5: Implement solutions with safe and economical consideration for societal problems using professional knowledge.

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSO)

After successful completion of the programme the Graduates will,

PSO1:Able to use knowledge in various domains in Civil Engineering to provide solution, innovations and engage in life long learning for professional growth.

PSO2: Proficient in mathematics and physical sciences and will excel in the core areas of Civil Engineering such as structural, environmental and water resources engineering.

PSO3: Able to understand modern management and construction techniques to complete projects within the stipulated period and funds.

PSO4: Able to solve Civil Engineering problems focusing on sustainable development.
