About IT Department

Welcome to the Department of Information Technology, Mookambigai College of Engineering, Pudukkottai. Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2001. Our objective is to produce engineering graduates, especially coming from rural backgrounds, with potential to design and develop systems involving the integration of software and hardware devices; make innovative approaches to programming and solving problems of an organization. Steady and rapid advances in computing technologies shorten the life of tools and techniques prevalent today. Therefore we do not focus on manuals of any language or package. Instead, students are provided with a strong foundation in information technology and problem-solving techniques, and are made adaptable to changes. The department has consistently maintained an exemplary academic record. Our department stands on the strength of experienced and well qualified teachers who are dedicated to teaching and also involved in upgradation of knowledge. Our alumni have grown to greater heights and they constantly interact with the department. I invite you all, who are having passion of working in IT sector or IT enabled services, to join in our undergraduate program of Information Technology Department.
