Welcome to the Department of Physics, Mookambigai College of Engineering, Pudukkottai.

Department of Physics was established in the year 1985.

Physics teaches people to accept reality with awe and admiration not to mention the amazement and joy that comes with it. - Lise Meitner

The Department was established with the sole objective of laying the foundation for the undergraduate courses offered by the college. The physics department is the backbone of the entire engineering education process. The main aim is to teach and impart the basic knowledge of science in the field of engineering. This provides the strong foundation in physics with the professoressional course as a part of the curriculum. Our teaching and learning process involves classroom lectures, laboratory demonstrations and guest lecture from external experts. The department consists of dedicated and motivated faculties with a passion for teaching.

To facilitate quality teaching to students through well- equipped laboratory and self- motivated faculties.
To encourage the students to participate in seminars and discover their talents through emerging science and technology.
To encourage the faculty members to attend conferences, online courses and Faculty development programs to know the recent technological development and discover new layers of knowledge in Physics

The physics department consists of innovative and motivated teachers for providing broad knowledge of science in all aspect to students with more efficiency and confidence. The Physics laboratory is spaciously built with fully equipped modern tools of the curriculum and syllabi of Anna University, Chennai. Special attention is given to each student by providing separate set of apparatus while performing the experiments. The lab covers over an area of 1500 square feet which can accommodate 60 students. This laboratory is well equipped with updated experiments.
